In Part 2 of Black Lives Lost, Tony Tidbit and Chris P. Reed II move beyond identifying the causes of community violence and confront the question that matters most: Who owns the solution?

Using Baltimore’s historic decline in homicides as a case study, they examine how focused deterrence, credible messengers, community violence intervention, targeted enforcement, trauma care, jobs, mentoring, business investment, and measurable public accountability can work together.

Tony and Chris challenge elected officials, law enforcement, educators, clergy, business leaders, families, and community members to stop relying on speeches, outrage, and blame. If Black lives truly matter, the commitment must be visible in our strategies, budgets, leadership, and daily choices before another family is forced to plan a funeral.

This is an honest conversation about Black lives, responsible representation, systemic barriers, personal responsibility, community accountability, and the collective action required to reduce violence.
