Who gets to count as American, and who gets held accountable when discrimination occurs?

In this episode of BEP Live from A Black Executive Perspective, Tony Tidbit connects two troubling stories involving identity, power, and accountability.

First, a United Airlines employee allegedly threatened a Mexican American citizen with ICE after he challenged her refusal to assist his family. Tony examines how a customer service failure escalated into an alleged racial threat, why no one appeared willing to intervene, and how workplace culture can empower repeated misconduct.

Then, Tony discusses the EEOC proposal to eliminate longstanding workforce demographic reporting requirements. Without data tracking race, ethnicity, sex, and job categories, will discrimination in hiring, promotions, and compensation become harder to uncover and prove?

This provocative conversation examines systemic racism, workplace equity, AI hiring bias, corporate accountability, and the danger of claiming society is “colorblind” while removing the tools used to measure unequal outcomes.

Because data does not create discrimination. Data exposes it.
