“All Elections Matter: The Importance of State & Local
Elections” with Tony Tidbit, Les Frye and special guest Makya Little, Candidate for Delegate of Virginia’s 19th District -Bonus Episode- October 30th, 2023.
Episode Description: Most people who are registered to vote participate in the Presidential elections every four years. But Congressional, state, and local elections take place every two years and, in some states, every single year. Most voters don’t understand the roles and responsibilities of each official who represents them at the various levels of government. How do we educate ourselves as a community to have—not just more political awareness—but more political power? And what steps should we take to become more engaged voters?
In this episode, Makya Little, Independent Candidate for Virginia’s 19th District Delegate will discuss the responsibilities of officials and different levels of government, and the mechanics of the state and local election process and why it’s just as important to be active in our state and local elections.
